Amira Learning has raised USD 5 million in a Series A round funding led by Owl Ventures. The round was also participated by GSV AcceleraTE, Rethink Education and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. With this round, the total capital raised by the company stands at USD 8 million. A breakthrough innovation, Amira is a software that listens as students read passages aloud and through speech recognition technology determines how well they read, and detect mistakes.
